Getting Yourself Ready to Fully Experience Thailand through Medical Means

Going for a trip does not just involve preparing your credit cards and the possessions you will be bringing. It also includes making sure that you ready your health before taking off, especially for overseas travel. If your target destination is an Asian country, like Thailand, it would require more medical examinations for your papers to be approved. Here is some information you might want to know ahead of time.

Vaccination

There will be a lot of shots to be taken before flying your way to the Land of Smiles. Remember that these would be all for your welfare, so never fail to get all of these.

  • Boosters for Hepatitis A, B, and C should be acquired a maximum of 4 weeks or a minimum of 2 weeks before the scheduled trip. This period is necessary for the shot to take full effect by the time you are off.
  • Immunisation for MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) is also necessary. But since these illnesses occur in a young age, try to remember or check your history if you are already over with them.
  • Another is something for Tetanus-diphtheria. Since this is required to be taken every 10 years, see if there is a need for you to get a revaccination. Remember that getting shots for this might have side effects, like soreness and difficulty in movements. Thus it is advisable to have it weeks before the vacation.
  • The Thai embassy also recommends the taking of Typhoid pill capsules. At least 4 tablets should be taken, every other day. This method is good for several years. The other one would only come in handy for 1 year. The type depends on certain conditions, like age, pregnancy, and others.
  • If you are going to visit rural areas, an advisor will recommend that you take boosters for Japanese encephalitis and Yellow Fever.

Some medications you will need are for malaria, anti-bacteria, diarrhoea, headache, and menstrual cramps.

With this relevant information, you surely would not go wrong. Good luck and have fun!
